Normally, the recommendations would start piling up from knowing what you want, knowing how much you would like to spend, knowing the 4Cs and so on. While you move around with these changes, also note how the price of the diamonds changes. For all practical purposes, you shouldn't really be bothered about the price of the diamonds.
With princess cut diamonds, if you have the basic 4Cs ready and answered well, the chances are that your partner would love the diamond. And if he or she does so, price shouldn't really be much of a concern.
